「尊重」是保羅在此對這官長的要求 而這官長果真是以尊重之道回之以禮 姑且不論是因為知道他的身分而害怕 總是真心誠意的勸他們請他們出監牢 這裡讓我們看見：這官長深知尊重他人的道理 如果這官長內心高傲 可能保羅會被關更久 但他選擇了承認錯誤 並且學會了尊重他人 很多時候我們忘記去尊重他人的專業 自己說的比專業人士更專業 我們也常常忘記去尊重他人的決定 自己想要的比大家決定的更重要 或許我們會想保羅這樣做是多餘的 就算保羅如此做是多此一舉 但是他懂得去教導這官長學會尊重他人 並且在未來不會再犯同樣的錯誤 我想這應該是互相尊重的起點吧 信仰是用來： 幫助我們更能夠尊重同為神所創造的他人 而不是以自己的信仰經歷來藐視或支配他人 使徒行傳 16:33 當夜，就在那時候，禁卒把他們帶去，洗photo他們的傷；他和屬乎他的人立時都受了洗photo。 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. 16:34 於是禁卒領他們上自己家裡去，給他們擺上飯。他和全家，因為信了　神，都很喜樂。 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house. 16:35 到了天亮，官長打發差役來，說：「釋放那兩個人吧。」 And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go. 16:36 禁卒就把這話告訴保羅photo說：「官長打發人來叫釋放你們，如今可以出監，平平安安地去吧。」 And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace. 16:37 保羅photo卻說：「我們是羅馬人，並沒有定罪，他們就在眾人面前打了我們，又把我們下在監裡，現在要私下攆我們出去嗎？這是不行的。叫他們自己來領我們出去吧！」 But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out. 16:38 差役把這話回稟官長。官長聽見他們是羅馬人，就害怕了， And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans. 16:39 於是來勸他們，領他們出來，請他們離開那城。 And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city. 16:40 二人出了監，往呂底亞photo家裡去，見了弟兄們，勸慰他們一番，就走了。 And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.
