前兩天來了兩個台灣人
開門見山是要來跟我分享聖經
我表明了牧師的身分
他們還是依然要跟我分享聖經怎麼說
意思是：他們的教導是對的，我們的教導是錯的
我告訴他們我在台灣已經跟他們教會交談過多次
我表示各教派對聖經某些部分有不同的看法與解釋可以彼此尊重
他回答我：牧師你知道的，聖經只有一種解釋
意思是：他們的教導是對的，我們的教導是錯的

以這個經歷來看今天的經文

說真心話常常是得罪人的原因
當保羅看見滿城偶像就心裡著急
因此每日在會堂市集與人辯論
真心話聽在不接受的人的耳中真是難以接受
但不說真心話卻又違背了信仰的良知
這狀況常常使我們陷入兩難

保羅在這兩難之間還是選擇了說真心話
因為因著真理說真心話總比妥協來的好

不過我們是否可以學像保羅
以未識之神來解釋耶穌與復活的道
卻又不傷及彼此之間的和氣
這是需要求神給予智慧

不要把在真理沙灘上撿到的貝殼當成唯一的真理
因為我們只是站在真理的沙灘上撿拾貝殼的小孩



使徒行傳

17:16 保羅photo在雅典photosite等候他們的時候，看見滿城都是偶像，就心裡著急；
Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. wholly...: or, full of idols
17:17 於是在會堂photo裡與猶太site人和虔敬的人，並每日在市上所遇見的人，辯論。
Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.
17:18 還有伊壁鳩魯和斯多亞兩門的學士，與他爭論。有的說：「這胡言亂語的要說甚麼？」有的說：「他似乎是傳說外邦鬼神的。」這話是因保羅傳講耶穌與復活的道。
Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection. babbler: or, base fellow
17:19 他們就把他帶到亞略•巴古，說：「你所講的這新道，我們也可以知道嗎？
And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is ? Areopagus: or, Mars' hill: it was the highest court in Athens
17:20 因為你有些奇怪的事傳到我們耳中，我們願意知道這些事是甚麼意思。」
For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.
17:21 （雅典人和住在那裡的客人都不顧別的事，只將新聞說說聽聽。）
(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)
17:22 保羅photo站在亞略•巴古當中，說：「眾位雅典人哪，我看你們凡事很敬畏鬼神。
Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. Mars' hill: or, the court of the Areopagites
17:23 我遊行的時候，觀看你們所敬拜的，遇見一座壇，上面寫著『未識之神』。你們所不認識而敬拜的，我現在告訴你們。
For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. devotions: or, gods that ye worship
